"I'm sure they'll make themselves known eventually."

They don't always have the easiest relationship. But he tries more, these days. He really does. It isn't that he doesn't love them.

But he is quite ready to change the subject, eyeing Cerai for a moment. They're due a conversation later as well, he feels.

Yes thank you, he needs to get away from the girl like right now. Jesus.

"Five living," he answers. Many dead.

"Two girls and three boys. My daughter Aurora lives here in the city."

Francis nods with a small hum.

"Lovely girl, extremely talented in deviation. I think you'd like her if you wanted to meet her."

"Aha, so you know her already. Like a little doll.. How did that come to pass?"

"Ah," with some surprise.

"Yes it makes sense you would know Jackson. He takes care of you?"

Like. Is he even good at his job? He's trustworthy? Francis tries wth Jackson for Aurora's sake and they've finally found footing with each other which is a relief but he doesn't really know Jackson as a man. Outside in the wider world.

"Good, I'm glad. Don't tell him but he's my favorite son in law."

A chuckle.

Maybe he should make more effort to invest in Jackson. Show.. some sort of interest in his life and exploits.

That lovely, lovely Liam fellow. It was such a shame when he passed.

Francis smiles back, a twinkle in his eye.

"I don't think your bar girl approves of me much," changing the subject and taking a sip of his drink as they walk around. It's fairly early in the evening and beginning to fill up as people come for supper.

Francis deflates a little and glances back in her direction.

"In my defense I don't remember if you said you didn't know what she was. And then she.. it was all very aggressive quite quickly. And she really should have told you."

"Mm.." he considers this. How... New age of you.

"I apologize then. It's not my intention to upset your staff.."

Hm.

"I suppose it's just that demons put me particularly on edge."

"Mm," nodding.

So he's just. Gonna air all his dirty laundry huh.

"I was married to one for a time. My son Abaddon is.." a gesture. A demon. Who's fucking your barmaid.

This word is far too small.

It is deeply uncomfortable.

"Mm," again. A little tight. There you go.

"Very coincidental.. I'm sure she's lovely," but-

Francis looks like he doubts that, at least in part.

"In the interest of.. full disclosure.. I wouldn't say my son is.. the best company to be keeping. It's more that fact which has me doubting."
