"Yeah," he breathes, spent, sticky, swollen, a hand on Francis and smoothing over his skin. "Yeah, I think we are."

God, it sure looks that way, anyway. And he is tired after all that - the talk, the drink, the sex. He's exhausted and he's gonna pass the fuck out.

Sleep well, beautiful. It's nearly dawn. Sleep through the day. Francis stays close by, knowing this it's week is vital to bond. He reads and works in bed, only getting up if he really needs to.

There when Ethan wakes up.

He'll wake up warm and cozy, buried in all those sheets and blankets, though he'll jolt initially when he realizes he isn't home. The fuck--

Oh. Right. He...got married, and he got laid.

Slowly, carefully, he'll peek out from under his nest, eyes falling to rest on his new husband.

Holy shit.

"Um. Good morning." He thinks. The fuck time is it, anywhere.

Oh! Hello you.

Francis looks up from his book and smiles. He holds the page with his finger but closes it's leaves and rolls to scoot down and lay at Ethan's eyelevel. The bed's curtains are still closed. It's like a little cave.

"Good morning." Warm.

Almost evening but nevermind it.

It is. It's nice.

"What time is it." How long did he sleep, Jesus.

Francis checks his pocket watch and closes it again with a crisp, pleasing snap.

"Half past four."

He really zonked you last night.

Is he sorry? Not in the slightest.

"What are your usual hours?"

You really did. Jesus. He probably slept like 12 hours.

"I'm usually asleep during the day, work at night. I was kind of afraid I'd be thrown off since we got married in the evening but it looks like I slept the whole day away anyway."

[antiquarius]

"Old habits," he chuckles.

Francis figured Ethan was some degree of nocturnal, as these things go.

"Sunset is at 6:13. Not much longer, now. Breakfast?"

He is by necessity, yep. He doesn't trust anyone else to run the place like he does, so..

"Sure."

He'll nod and get up, slipping out of bed and through the curtains to fetch Ethan something nice and fresh. Delivered at noon, harvested this morning.

"Do you work tonight?" Asking as he comes back. The curtains in his room are all drawn but he's drawn the bed as an extra layer to make Ethan feel safe.

"I probably should. My GM will be there and she runs a tight ship, but I wasn't there last night.."

And he frets.

[antiquarius]

"No honeymoon in the cards then," slipping back into their nest with a nice crystal tumbler for Ethan and a cup of tea for himself.

Mm delicious.

“I could.. take the day,” he allows. Make him feel bad, gee.

Yes we'll maybe he just wants to keep you in this sex nest forever, what about that.

"Let's compromise. Go to check in and you can give me a tour before I wisk you away and back into bed with me where you belong."

That sounds appealing, really.

"Okay," he allows, stretching out, groping to brush his fingers over Francis' skin. "That's a good compromise."

[antiquarius]

"I'm glad," pleased.

He sips his tea, enjoying the affection.

"How are you feeling?"

"...Pretty good, actually," he admits. He feels amazing. Well fucked, married...Just.

Really good.

[antiquarius]

"Good. Me too. A little surreal... But good surreal."

He chuckles, sipping at his 'breakfast'. God he'd kill for regular food. Sigh.

"Yeah. Seriously," Ethan laughs. "Crazy surreal. And this ring, this is gorgeous. Made me feel like a dick I didn't have anything."

[antiquarius]

"Ah, not at all what I intended. But it worked out. It would have been a little awkward if we both brought rings."

That shimmering iridescent inlay is something else, isn't it.

"I'm glad you like it. I had it made especially."

“It’s really gorgeous. I’ve never seen anything like this.”

Holding his hand up to study. It’s beautiful.

“What’s this stone?”

[antiquarius]

"It isn't a stone at all, it's a dragon scale."

[veinilla]

"Shut the fuck up."

He blinks, staring, then laughs.

"No way. That's crazy. Seriously?"

[antiquarius]

"Seriously. Part of one at least. That's a heart scale which are quite large. It comes from the chest."

He gestures to himself, round about where he plucked it. A painful business but it was in the name of hope and it's paying off. His human body bares no mark there, just a freckle.

"It will keep you safe."

He squints, shaking his head a little.

"You're jerking my chain. Dragons really exist?"
